Major Final
The Major Final is the premier final for towers with six (or fewer) bells. Until 1946 this was the only six bell competition organised by the Devon Association, but as such a large number of teams entered in that year it was decided that from 1947 there would be two qualifying rounds, one for north Devon and the other for south Devon, from which the top five teams in each would progress to this final. From 2002 the teams placed first and second in the Minor Final also progressed into this event.

Minor Final
The Minor Final was first held in 1971, as a way to allow more teams from the two qualifiers to compete again. Initially the event was held after the Major Final, but for the 2002 season the dates were swapped over so the top two teams in this final could be rewarded with places in the Major Final.

Novice
The Devon Association has held an event for novice teams, those where the majority of the ringers are not regular competitors in other competitions, since 1999. This popular event holds sections for round ringing, half of the sixty on thirds peal from the stay, and since 2020 and intermediate event where teams are asked to ring the full peal with a rise and lower, but each part of the peal is judged seperately. Notably, the Novice competition was the last event held in Devon before the Covid-19 pandemic halted ringing.
