Dear Tower Captain
The Paignton ringers instituted a new Annual Invitation Ringing Festival in 2017 in memory of John Kelly who was the captain at Paignton for over 50 years.
This year’s Festival will include a Six and Eight Bell competition and is being held at St. John the Baptist Parish Church, Paignton on Saturday 23 November 2019.
To encourage as many teams to participate as possible both competitions will consist of top ringing only with no rise or lower – the six bell competition using the sixty on thirds call changes and the eight bell competition using Queens – both for a duration of no less than 10 minutes.
This invitation is being sent to you in the hope that your tower can raise one or more teams to take part in the competition this year.
Ringing will commence at 2.00pm and ringing times will be advised in advance.
The entry fee is a minimum donation of \u00a35 per team and all profit from the festival will be donated to Bloodwise – the blood cancer research charity.
Tea and refreshments will be available throughout the afternoon\/evening.
Notification of attendance should be received via email by Saturday 16th November.
