Due to unforeseen circumstances, the work at Aswater tot the tower will not be complete in time for the Minor Final as first thought.
Therefore, it is to be held at Clawton. It is the next village on, they are a similar weight of 8cwt - 1qr - 25lb and are also a ground floor.
To any team entering this years 6 Bell, please be aware of this change and spread the word.

Change to Huntsham Workshop
Please be aware that there has been a change to the date and venue for the Guild of Devonshire Ringers' Call Change Workshop this month.
Instead of taking place at Huntsham on Saturday 22 April, the workshop will now be held at Stoodleigh on Saturday 29 April between 10am and 12pm. This is to avoid a clash with the Open Festival at Crediton. All Welcome! And thanks are extended to all ringers who have supported these sessions so far.

Inter Deanery ringing festival.
Saturday 8th April is the Inter deanery ringing competition, this year it is being held within the Ivybridge & Plymouth Deanery at Shaugh Prior.
The six bells were re-hung and tuned in 1937 by John Taylor and Co and are a superb sounding ring of bells but they are a challenge to strike well! Tenor weigh's 15-1-3 in E.
Draw for order of ringing 2.15pm, there will be a tea and real ale will be available as the village pub is currently closed.

To ring half peal off the stay known as sixty on thirds
Trophies and certificates will be awarded at the end of the competition.
Teams to ring a peal known as Sixty on Thirds (6 Bell)
Any tower wishing to enter two teams may do so, but the second team will only be accepted if time permits.
All cups will be perpetual and must be returned by the following year’s competition.
Nectan's Church Council will not be held responsible for any accident
in the Tower to any ringer or anyone attending the competition.
ENTRY FEE: £6.00

Times will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Rededication of Chagford Bells
On 1st April 2017 there was service of thanksgiving and re-dedication of the refurbished and re-hung bells of St Michael the Archangel, Chagford conducted by the Bishop of Exeter, the Right Revd. Robert Atwell
The bells were rung before the service, during the service and after the blessing of the restoration project by the local band. The bells were then available for open ringing after the buffet lunch.

Today marks the start of the 2017 ringing calendar with the annual Ide Competition and the 2017 Qualifiers for the 6 Bell will soon be upon us!

Widecombe Ringer in Incident at Worcester Cathedral
There have been several news reports this weekend regarding a ringer from Widecombe-in-the-Moor sustaining injuries following an incident while ringing the tenor at Worcester Cathedral. This included a dramatic rescue from the ringing room by trained members of the Fire and Rescue Service.
We are pleased to advise that the ringer concerned has returned home and has sustained a bump to the head and a back injury which will be explored with health professionals this week.
Our best wishes to the gentleman concerned for a speedy recovery and a quick return to ringing.
Michael Beer and Raymond "Curly" Clements
We are very sad to share the news of the recent passing of Michael Beer, Captain at Bishops Tawton, and of Raymond "Curly" Clements of Littleham.
Curly's funeral will be held at Littleham on 3rd January 2017, starting at 12pm.
Michael's funeral will be held at Bishops Tawton on 5th January 2017, starting at 13.30pm.
